Metro makes it big, to be remade in Telugu: Tamil thriller Metro, which hit the screens on June 24, opened to unanimous positive response from the audience and critics. The film explores the rationale behind the psyches of modern-day criminals, is inspired from the director’s own experience.
The latest update is that the film will be remade in Telugu and the same team will be at the helm. “Metro producer Jaya Krishnan will produce the Telugu remake. Ananda Krishnan who directed the film will helm its remake too. Shirish, instead of playing the protagonist, will play the baddie,” said sources.
It is learnt that top Telugu hero Naga Chaitanya, who is buzzed to be the future husband of Samantha, will most likely play the lead role in the Telugu remake of Metro.
Metro was initially restricted by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for its theme. However, after approaching the Revising Committee, it was passed with an ‘A’ certificate without any cuts.
