Meesaya Murukku 2 to release on this date
Actor, filmmaker and composer Hiphop Tamizha Adhi has officially announced that Meesaya Murukku 2 will hit theatres worldwide on September 25.
The announcement was accompanied by a promotional video introducing Adhi’s character and offering a glimpse of the film’s tone and music. In the clip, his character declares that he will continue fighting until the very end, regardless of whether he wins or loses.
The teaser also invites audiences to prepare for “a concert in theatres,” highlighting the film’s music-centric approach while briefly showcasing members of the supporting cast.
The sequel arrives nine years after the release of Meesaya Murukku, which enjoyed commercial success and became a milestone in Adhi’s career. Marking the original film’s ninth anniversary earlier this year, Adhi had said the project had evolved from a personal dream into an emotional connection shared by millions of fans, while teasing the return of the franchise.
Besides playing the lead role, Adhi has written and directed the sequel. He has also composed the soundtrack and penned the lyrics. The screenplay features additional dialogues by Karan Karky and Nithish D.
The cast includes Chaithra Achar, Ketika Sharma, Ramya Ranganathan, Nasser, Aadukalam Naren, Karunaas, Sha Ra and Harshath Khan, among others.
Produced by Khushbu Sundar’s Avni Movies in association with ACS Arun Kumar’s Benzz Media Pvt. Ltd., the film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Balaji Subramanyam, editor Fenny Oliver, art director V.S. Dinesh Kumar and stunt choreographer Action Sandhosh.
