The rank list for admissions for MBBS and BDS courses in Tamil Nadu was released today. Adhitya of Kanyakumari, Vignesh from Thiruvaiyaru and Kanagavel of Thiruvallur emerged toppers with 200 out 200.
Erode student Vignesh came second and Jayagnanavel from Vijayawada came third. The list was released by health minister C Vijayabaskar.
The DME said it has received 25,814 applications. There are 20 government medical colleges and two ESI medical colleges in the state, besides six self-financing colleges. The total number of MBBS seats is 2,853. There is one government and 17 private dental colleges. The total number of BDS seats is 1,055.

Students could check their random numbers on the websites www.tnhealth.org and www.tn.gov.in by entering their acknowledgement registration (AR) number, said G Selvarajan, additional director of medical education and secretary of selection committee.
The sale of applications began on Wednesday (May 26). But downloading of forms already started from Tuesday, while sale of hard copies began Wednesday. Applications can be downloaded from www.tnhealth.org.
The counselling will begin on June 20. Government medical colleges are offering 2,650 seats for the MBBS course this academic year, with 15 per cent (397 seats) allotted for all India quota.
