Manjima Mohan thrilled to act with Vijay Sethupathi

Apart from Aditi Rao Hydari of Kaatru Veliyidai fame, Manjima Mohan will also be seen as one of the female leads in Vijay Sethupathi’s political satire Tughlaq Durbar.

The film went on floors with an auspicious pooja event recently in Chennai. The film also features Parthiban and Karunakaran amongst other actors.

Director Balaji Tharaneetharan is writing the dialogues of the film and 96 fame Premkumar will handle cinematography. The film is produced by Seven Screen Studios and Viacom 18 Studios. Music is by Govind Vasantha.

Says Manjima, “I am excited to work with Vijay Sethupathi. He is one actor I’ve always wanted to share screen space with. I am glad that I am getting to do a film with him. I liked the way the director narrated the script to me.

These are the kind of roles that I wanted to do from day one in the industry and I am happy that I am finally getting to do them now. It is a huge star cast, and I couldn’t let go of this script. Also, Vijay Sethupathi is such a good actor and I’m sure it will be quite challenging for me.”

The movie’s director Delhi Prasad Deenadayalan says, “It’s an important and an interesting role, and I felt Manjima would be apt for it. She read the script and okayed it almost immediately.

It’s an emotional part, and the focus is more on the bond her character will share with Vijay Sethupathi’s. There’s a lot of scope for performance and we are sure she will ace it.”
