Mani Ratnam resumes Ponniyin Selvan

Shooting for director Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now the team has resumed shooting today at the Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City.

All actors and crew members have underwent their Coronavirus tests. This schedule will involve Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and few others actors.
Vikram will be joining the team in the next schedule after completing his works in Cobra directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu.

It has been said that grand song is being planned to be shot during the schedule with choreography by Brindha.

Ponniyin Selvan is a historical drama film written, directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam, under his production studio Madras Talkies, along with Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions.

The film was co-written by Ratnam along with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. It stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi,Jayaram,Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha in prominent roles, while Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi appear in supporting roles.

The film’s music is being composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography handled by Ravi Varman, and editing done by A. Sreekar Prasad. It is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical period based fictional novel of the same name.
