Malavika Mohanan wraps Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Pocket Novel with Vijay Sethupathi
Malavika Mohanan has completed filming for Pocket Novel, marking her return to a substantial role in Tamil cinema. Directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja, the film features Vijay Sethupathi in the lead and has music by veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja.
Announcing the completion of her work, Malavika shared an emotional note about her experience on the project. She reflected on the close relationships that develop between actors and crew members during months of filming, describing the team as a second home.
She also expressed gratitude to Vijay Sethupathi for creating a supportive environment on set and encouraging her throughout the filmmaking process.
The actor pointed out that although she and Sethupathi had previously been part of Petta and Master, they had not shared screen space in those films. Pocket Novel, she said, finally gave them the opportunity to work together.
Malavika also praised director Thiagarajan Kumararaja, describing her experience of working with him as memorable and highlighting his approach to both filmmaking and people.
She thanked costume designer and producer Ezhilmathy SD for her support and signed off by describing Pocket Novel as much more than simply another film.
The project also features Raj B Shetty and Kishore. It is Kumararaja’s third feature film and is being produced under the Tyler Durden and Kino Fist banners.
