Major reshuffle of IPS officers in TN

The Tamil Nadu government has announced the reshuffle of 26 IPS officers. 

According to a press release from Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Niranjan Mardi, several police officials have been ordered promotions, transfers and postings with immediate effect.

Those transferred and posted in other postings include K Shankar, Commissioner of Police, Salem City, the note from the Home Department said.

Shankar has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch-CID, Chennai, vice C Sridhar.

Senior officials like Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IGP/ Additional Commissioner, Law and Order, South, Greater Chennai Police, G Venkataraman, IG, Administration were promoted as ADGP and posted to various positions.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, South, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal has been promoted as Additional Director General of Police. He is posted as Additional Director General of police, Operations, Chennai, in the downgraded post vice Ashish Bhengra, who is retiring on superannuation on 30 June.

Inspector General of Police, Modernisation, Vinit Dev Wankhede, has been promoted as Additional Director General of Police (DGP) and posted as ADGP, State Crime Records Bureau.

Joint Commissioner of Police, North Zone, Prem Anand Sinha is promoted as Inspector General of Police and posted as Additional Commissioner of police, Law and Order, South.

Joint Commissioner of Police, South, R Sudhakar is posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order (East).
