Lokesh Kanagaraj to direct Kamal Haasan

Director Lokesh Kangaraj is joining hands with Kamal Hassan for a film after Thalapathy 64. Remember the Maanagaram and Kaithi maker already has films with Suriya and Karthi.

Inhis interviews, Lokesh Kanagaraj has earlier revealed that he is an ardent fan of Kamal Hassan. He has also revealed that the character of Karthi in Kaithi is inspired by Kamal Hassan’s Virumandi.

According to reports, Lokesh got a call from Raaj Kamal Films International. Being a big fan of Kamal Haasan, Lokesh immediately given his nod to the film which is likely to go on floors after Thalapathy 64.

It is said that Kamal Haasan himself will be playing the lead role in the film and if all goes well, ‘Bigg Boss’ Darshan will also be playing a pivotal role. Currently, the director is filming Thalapathy 64 in Delhi while it is also confirmed that the director is directing Kaithi 2 after Thalapathy 64.

It is also said that the director has signed a superhero movie with actor Surya titled Irumbukai Mayavi. The second schedule of shooting for Vijay’s upcoming film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which was happening in Delhi, has taken a hit due to the air pollution in the capital city.

According to reports, the schedule of the movie tentatively titled Thalapathy 64 was expected to last in Delhi for about 40 days. However, due to the pollution issue, it is unknown if the team would continue the shooting there.

Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, who made a splash with his first film Maanagaram a few years ago and with Karthi starrer Kaithi recently, is one among the few filmmakers to watch out for in Tamil cinema today. He has teamed up with Vijay next for a yet-untitled thriller which will feature the star in the role of a ruthless gangster.
