Lingusamy shares why Vijay did not act in Run and Sandakozhi

Director Lingusamy has revealed that actor Vijay, who is now the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, was originally considered for both Run and Sandakozhi before the films were eventually made with different actors.

According to the filmmaker, discussions for Run ended after concerns that its romantic storyline would not suit Vijay’s on-screen image at the time.

He also recalled narrating Sandakozhi to the actor, who reportedly enjoyed the first half but ultimately decided the project was not the right fit.

Lingusamy added that after Sandakozhi became a commercial success, Vijay congratulated him and acknowledged that the film worked perfectly for Vishal.
