Atharvaa will be playing a constable in debutant director Ravindra Madhava’s film. The team has now started shooting the thriller and has roped in Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead.
Ravindra says that though they considered several actresses, it was Lavanya who fit the bill. “It isn’t an easy role. We came up with several options and even auditioned a few actresses. ”
Talking about the Koushik Pegallapati directorial, Lavanya says, “For the first time I am doing a dark comedy film. It’s one of those films where you want to laugh looking at the antics of every character.”
Describing the principal characters as “narrative-driven”, she says that since she had worked with Geetha Arts Production House for a couple of films earlier, “it is like a homecoming.”
Lavanya Tripathi was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India and grew up in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Her father is a lawyer practicing in high court and civil court and her mother is a retired teacher. She has two elder siblings, one brother and sister.
After completing her schooling from Marshall School, Dehradun, she moved to Mumbai, where she graduated in Economics from Rishi Dayaram National College.
She stated that she “always wanted to be in showbiz” but her father wanted her to complete her education first. She then started modelling, appearing in commercials, while also being part of television shows. She won the title of Miss Uttarakhand in 2006.
