Actor Tovino Thomas of Maari 2 has suffered a critical injury while shooting for his upcoming film, Kala. He has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Kochi.
It is said that the actor’s health is now stable, but Tovino is still kept under observation. It is further stated that he requires complete rest for three weeks.
According to Mathrubhumi News channel, Tovino suffered an injury after receiving a kick to his stomach during the shooting of Kala, directed by VS Rohith. However, the actor chose to ignore the pain and continued to shoot for the film. And on Wednesday, he decided to take medical help after his pain become severe.
His upcoming release will be the superhero Malayalam film, Minnal Murali. The film’s teaser was released recently and it received unanimous appreciation from all quarters.
He made his debut in 2012 with the Malayalam film Prabhuvinte Makkal. Tovino is recognized for the wide range of characters he has portrayed which includes protagonists, strong crucial characters and negative roles.
He won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015). He also won the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for his performance in Mayaanadhi (2017).
