In a bulletin issued late on Thursday on the health status of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Apollo Hospitals said she was responding well to treatment.
“The Honourable Chief Minister who was admitted in the Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai for fever has responded well to the treatment,” said the hospital’s chief operating officer Subbiah Viswanathan.
“Necessary evaluation tests are being carried out. She has been advised few days stay in the hospital for recuperative treatment,” he added.
Ever since her hospitalisation rumours have been going around that the CM is in critical condition and the last two days there has been rumours that she has passed away.
Following this the state police has released an announcement that rumours are being monitored and people will be taken to task for doing the same.
“Some on social media are spreading rumours regarding CM Jayalalitha’s health, I appeal to them to refrain from doing so,” said CR Saraswathy, spokesperson of AIADMK.
