Latest update about Jayalalithaa’s health

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa continues to improve at Apollo Hospitals where she was admitted on September 22, the hospital said on Tuesday evening.

“The same line of treatment is being continued. The Honourable Chief Minister is under close observation by the team of doctors,” a statement said in an update on Jayalalithaa’s health.

“The Honourable Chief Minister has been advised further stay in the hospital for treatment,” the statement, signed by Subbiah Viswanathan, COO of the hospital, said.

AIADMK’s official Twitter handle said: “Puratchi Thalaivi Amma is under close observation by the team of doctors & has been advised to further stay in Hospital – Apollo Hospital.”

“Official release with regard to the health condition of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who has been undergoing treatment at a hospital since 22 September, will reduce the anxiety of the people”, the Madras High Court observed on Tuesday while asking the government to get back on the issue by Wednesday.

The oral observation was made by a division bench while hearing a PIL by social activist ‘Traffic’ Ramaswamy, who has sought a detailed report from the government on the health condition of Jayalalithaa.
