Krishna Jayanthi celebrations galore, CM asks people to follow God

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa has greeted people on the occasion of Krishna Jayanthi, Meanwhile, people across the state have been celebrating the festival with special prayers at their houses and temples.

In an official statement, she said that the festival is celebrated with lot of fervour, by painting rangoli, making delicacies believed to be the favourite of Lord Krishna besides serving butter and dressing up little children like him.

Citing from Bhagavad Gita, she said Lord Krishna preached that one could achieve success if he takes up his endeavours without any expectations, and called on one and all to uphold Dharma.

She said Lord Vishnu took avatar as Lord Krishna and this is being celebrated as Krishna Jayanthi. She said people celebrate the day with elaborate prayers and offerings to the God.

Urging everyone to follow the preaching of Lord Krishna in Bhagawad Gita, she said people should possess qualities such as love, compassion, patience etc.
