Kollywood Actors and Actress greets Jayalalitha
Various trade bodies of Tamil film industry have congratulated chief minister J Jayalalithaa for her party, the AIADMK’s, stupendous victory in the just concluded Assembly elections.
In a statement, Nadigar Sangam general secretary Vishal offered his best wishes to ‘Amma’ and wished her many more years of service to Tamil Nadu. Tamil Film Producers Council, Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) and other associations have also come up with congratulatory statements.
FEFSI wished Jayalalithaa for a resounding victory from RK Nagar constituency. They said Tamilnadu under her leadership will continue to march ahead towards glory.
Speaking to reporters, Producers Council president Kalaipuli S Thanu said, “Impressed by the good deeds of the government led by Jayalalithaa, people have given mandate to it. We are confident that the State will witness more growth”.
Fighting heavy odds, J Jayalalithaa proved her detractors wrong again with her grit and determination as she steered AIADMK to power for a second consecutive term, bucking the tradition since 1989 when no party has retained power in Tamil Nadu.
Jayalalithaa Jayaram, the ‘Iron Lady’ from Poes Garden, has bucked the trend to beat anti-incumbency and retain power in Tamil Nadu — a first since 1984. Indeed, the 68-year-old politician is “a phenomenon” in the state, as political commentator Cho Ramasawamy said.
