Kochadaiyaan producer sentenced to 6 months in jail following cheque bounce scandal
A private company which had invested in the post-production of the Rajinikanth movie Kochadaiyaan moved a petition against the producer Murali Manohar alleging payment issues after the cheque bounced.
Kochadaiyaan, starred Superstar Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone and many other leading stars in its cast.
The movie was directed by Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundaryaa Rajinikanth.
The movie was produced by MediaOne Global Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and a private company called Ad Bureau advertising Ltd had invested in the postproduction of the film.
It is said that the advertising company had invested up to Rs 10 crores in the postproduction of the animated film and was promised that they would be given 20% rights of the film’s Tamil Nadu collections and 12% commission.
The agreement between the two companies also stated that the remaining 80% rights of the Tamil Nadu collection, the entire music rights and all international rights would remain with the MediaOne Global Entertainment Ltd.
