Khushbu lands in new controversy, apologises to journos

A recent voice note of actress-politician-producer Khushbu Sundar on WhatsApp, which was meant for television producers, landed her in a fresh controversy as it was alleged that she spoke bad of mediapersons.

She said this on the voice note: “More importantly, press people will somehow turn up. So, make sure you don’t give them a chance to take photos or videos. They are waiting to rip us apart.

‘Presskaaran’ doesn’t have any news other the COVID right now. So, they would be waiting to publish something about us once shooting resumes. So, please take care.”

However, she issued a clarification by saying: “My voice message, an edited version, regarding the press is making rounds. It has gone from our producers group n I am ashamed to say we have such cheap minds among us. My intentions were clear n not meant to disrespect the press. Its a tone you speak within friends.

My respect for the press is for all to see and journalists can vouch for that. Not even once in my 34yrs of cinema they would have ever seen or heard me speaking to them nor about them in disrespect. The voice message is half. But my sincere apologies if I have hurt any of you.

Very unfortunately you realize those who you work for are the ones who try and stab you behind your back. I know which producer has done this..but i shall not name them. My silence and forgiveness is their biggest punishment. There is lot more to be done and I shall continue.”

After the government gave permission for the shoot of TV serials recently, she posted: “After all the struggle n pain,TV industry is ready to roll from tmrw. We start shooting after 70days break due to lockdown. We finally see smiles on our daily wagers faces.

We have taken every precaution n measures to ensure safety of our units. Your fav shows will go on air soon. This would not have been possible if not for the huge support of #FEFSIPresident #RKSelvamani and his team..And my #STEPS members..A huge shout to SujathaGopal, Baleshwar, Shankar, Balu, and our President @sujataa_HMM.

Also a big thanks to all my producers who stood by us like a rock. And lastly a Huge thanks one more time to our Hon’ble @CMOTamilNadu and minister @Kadamburrajuofl avl and everyone in the govt, secretariat and each one of those who have helped us. Every drop makes an ocean, and we have proved it. Hard work, sincerity, good intentions never fail.”
