Keerthy Suresh walks out of Ponniyin Selvan for ‘Thalaivar 168’

Keerthy Suresh was committed to work with Mani Ratnam for Ponniyin Selvan, and the actress was excited about it. However, its dates matched with that of ‘Thalaivar 168’.

Left with no choice, the actress has walked out of Ponniyin Selvan and opted for Rajinikanth’s film since she didn’t want to miss the opportunity of working with the superstar, said reports.

It is to be noted that Sun Pictures has announced that Keerthy Suresh will be playing an important role in Rajinikanth’s next film which is directed by Siva. In a tweet, producers Sun Pictures said, “We are delighted to announce that for the first time, @KeerthyOfficial will be acting with Superstar @rajinikanth in #Thalaivar168  @directorsiva#KeerthyInThalaivar168.”

Expressing her excitement, Keerthy tweeted: “Extremely happy to announce this magical milestone in my journey .From being awe struck of @rajinikanth sir to sharing screen space with him will be my most cherished memory in my life. Thank you @directorsiva sir @sunpictures 😊🙏🏻#Thalaivar168.”

Keerthy Suresh had bagged various awards and gained recognition on a wider level with her release Mahanati. She played the lead role of actress Savithri and her performance was well-acclaimed. Meanwhile Siva received praises after working with  Ajith in Viswasam.

It’s worth noting that Keerthy’s mother Menaka Suresh had played Rajinikanth’s romantic interest in Netri Kann, which came out in 1981. Recently, Soori has been roped in to star alongside Rajinikanth in Thalaivar 168.

“My biggest dream has come true. It gives so much joy when one gets to click a selfie with Thalaivar. But, I have got an opportunity to appear along with him throughout a film. I am at the peak of happiness,” said Soori.
