Kazhuvethi Moorkkan movie review

Story:

Arulnithi and Santhosh Prathap who are from different castes are chilhood friends.

Santhosh saves Arulnithi’s life during school times. Hence, Arulnithi is very attached to him.

However, this is not liked by Arulnithi’s father who is also the former president of the village.

Rajasimman is the district secretary of caste based party. He plans for a mega rally to showcase his party strength in the village. However, Santhosh tears a banner kept for the meeting.

Which makes Rajasimman lose his posting. Soon, Santhosh is found dead and the blame is put in Arulnithi.

Arulnithi is on the run from the cops but is also determined to punish those who murdered Santhosh. What happens next forms the crux of the story.

Analysis:

Directed by Gautham Raj, the first half of the movie deals with the friendship between Arulnithi and Santhosh. There is also love the portion between Arulnithi and Dushara Vijayan.

The movie takes a complete turn in the second hlaf and takes the action and revenge route.

Arulnithi is mighty impressive in the role of Moorgasamy. He is terrific in the action sequences and intimidating with his facial expressions.

Dushara Vijayan is improving with each film and she has once again made his presence felt.

Santhosh as Arulnithi’s friend and from a lower caste had done his part well. His acting is impressive in the scenes where he is insulted by Arulnithi’s parents but he tolerates all that for his friend.

Rajasimman shines as the villain and is cast perfectly in his character.

Imman’s background score is pulsating. Sridhar’s camerawork is impressive and Ganesh Kumar’s action choreography needs a special mention.

Rating: 3.4/5
