DMK president M Karunanidhi is recuperating and undergoing speech therapy, his son and party working president M K Stalin said on Monday.
“You all know. It is due to old age. There are some issues. Right now, he is recuperating,” Stalin told reporters at the party headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ in Chennai.
He said people are angry at Chief Minister K Palaniswami and the legislators supporting him were not able to go to constituencies.
Stalin said AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala was ruling through a benami.
Referring to the eviction of DMK members from the Assembly on February 18 Stalin said all the opposition parties wanted the Speaker to hold a secret ballot to decide on the confidence motion moved by Palaniswami.
Earlier in the day, DMK had moved the Madras High Court seeking to declare Saturday’s vote of confidence in the Tamil Nadu Assembly null and void.
