Karunanidhi falls ill, DMK bans visitors

DMK president and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was indisposed and was advised rest by the doctors.

According to a press release, the DMK announced that Karunanidhi is not well as he has developed allergy due to some medicines he is taking regularly.

The release went on to say that he is taking rest and visitors are requested not to disturb him.

Karunanidhi’s health was affected due to drug allergy caused by one of the medicines which he regularly consumed. Consequently doctors have advised him rest and the DMK leader would not be in a position to receive any visitors.

The DMK today had called an all party meeting in the state calling for action in the Cauvery issue. Though the party had moved three resolution for the case, the information about the party chief’s ill health has left DMK workers worried.

The news has come at a time when Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa, the bitter rival of Karunanidhi, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city for more than month.
