Karthik Subbaraj talks about directing Ajith
Filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj has reignited speculation about a potential project with actor Ajith Kumar after speaking about the possibility during a recent interview on Chai With Chithra. Addressing a fan’s question, the director revealed that discussions with Ajith had taken place in the past, although they never progressed beyond an initial stage.
Karthik explained that while a story discussion had occurred, the idea did not move forward into active development or production. Despite the project not materialising so far, he expressed interest in working with Ajith in the future and said he remains hopeful that such a collaboration will eventually happen.
The conversation arose when a fan, who described himself as an admirer of both Ajith and Karthik, spoke about enjoying the filmmaker’s work and recalled watching Petta and Viswasam during their simultaneous release. The fan also praised Karthik’s storytelling style before asking why the director had not yet joined forces with Ajith on a film.
