Kamal Haasan has has updated that his team has got more than 42 minutes edited footage of Sabash Naidu in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi from the first schedule, which also includes a song featuring his daughter Shruti Haasan.
“42+ minutes edited length in each language. + 1 song with Shruti completed. Looking good. Kundu and Naidu have a life of their own”, wrote the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ on Twitter.
The Vishwaroopam actor had taken over the director’s chair after Rajeev Kumar, who was supposed to direct the film fell ill.
Popular comedian Brahmanandam has been roped in to play Balram Naidu’s assistant in the film while Saurabh Shukla will reprising the role of Brahmanandam in the Hindi version, which is titled Sabash Kundu.
In a statement recently on taking over as the film’s director, Kamal said, “My director, Rajeev has taken extremely ill. The unfortunate setback occurred when we were on the fourth day of our recce in Los Angeles.”
“He has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. It is a rare infection prevalent in Europe and North America. This is the reason I am now directing the film… I moved in as a standby director hoping my friend, Rajeev, will recover soon.”
“It seems he will, but not in time to finish this film, which is tightly scheduled to end principal shooting by July-end or the first week of August. I am sure when he is up and about, he will have many more films to direct.”
