Kamal, Vikram & Kadaram Kondan

Kamal Haasan, the producer of Kadaram Kondan, was all praise for its hero Vikram at the trailer launch of the movie in Chennai.

“I was impressed when cinematographer and director friend of mine screened Meera as not all actors can confidently face the camera and act, Vikram is one such actor”, he said.

“I wish Vikram should have become Chiyaan much earlier. Had Sethu happened to him long back, he would have done more quality films. Just like how Chiyaan stayed with him all these years, the title KK will also travel with him from now,” he added.

Kamal further said: “I enjoyed watching Kadaram Kondan not as an actor but as a fan and artist. The film has come out well just like a Hollywood action thriller. Not all actors would allow supporting actors to enjoy equal scope.

A confident actor like Sivaji Ganesan did in Thiruvilayadal by allowing Nagesh to perform. Small characters in my films scored well. In Kadaram Kondan, Vikram allowed actors like Abi and Akshara to have equal footage. Vikram has the panache and style which is important for KK  the character which he plays in the film.”

Vikram said, “The action scenes have come out well matching the standards of international films. I believe Kadaram Kondan will be a milestone film in my career and take me to a new section of audiences”

He added: “When I was studying at Montford school, we mostly watch English films. But on some special occasions, each house captains would pick one Tamil film and all of them only picked Kamal sir’s films. He has been a big inspiration to all of us”.
