Kamal unveils dad’s statue in Paramakudi

Actor, filmmaker and Makkal Needhi Maiam founder-president Kamal Haasan, who is celebrating his birthday today, unveiled a statue of his father and freedom fighter Srinivasan in his native village near Paramakudi.

Accompanied by party members, office-bearers and fans, Kamal unveiled the statue and paid tributes. He said cinema is his profession and politics is his style of serving the public.

Kamal’s daughters Shruti and Akshara have accompanied him on this trip to Paramakudi. Also, his elder brother Charu Haasan has also taken this trip. Akshara took to Instagram to share the pictures of the Haasan family from the airport.

Meanwhile, his fans, friends in the industry and people from various walks of life have greeted Kamal on his special day.

On November 8, the actor will head to Chennai to inaugurate a statue of his guru in cinema, K Balachander at his new office that is expected to be attended by numerous celebrities.
