Kamal Haasan, who was recently hospitalised for a surgical procedure in his leg, has returned home. After a few days rest, he will resume shoot for Indian 2 and Thalaivan Irukkiran, besides commencing the works of his party Makkal Needhi Maiam.

“Nammavar is fit and fine. He very much wants to resume works now. But doctors have advised him more rest. He will meet fans and party members soon,” sources say.

DMK president M K Stalin recently visited the MNM founder and actor-politician at a private hospital in Chennai, where the latter underwent a surgery in his leg.
Stalin, accompanied by senior leaders of his party, enquired the health condition of Kamal and wished him speedy recovery. The actor-politician thanked the DMK chief for his gesture.

Meanwhile, fans and party members of MNM have been asked not to visit Kamal till he recuperates. Last week, a statement from his party Makkal Needhi Maiam said Kamal Haasan will undergo a surgical procedure to get an implant removed from his leg in a private hospital in Chennai on Friday.

The statement by Dr R Mahendran, Vice President of Makkal Needhi Maiam, said, “In July 2016, Dr Kamal Haasan had an unfortunate accident resulting in a compound fracture in his right leg for which he had to undergo a surgical procedure during which an implant was placed.

Due to his very busy schedule in political and film commitments, there had been a postponement in the removal of the implant.

However, now upon his doctors’ advice, Dr Kamal Haasan will be getting admitted in the hospital for the surgical procedure on 22nd November 2019 to remove the implant. Furthermore, he has been compelled to take a break for the next few weeks to physically recoup.”

Recently, Kamal and superstar Rajinikanth had said they would work together in politics, if needed, for the welfare of Tamil Nadu.
