Kamal Haasan, after successfully completing the Los Angeles schedule of his upcoming flick Sabaash Naidu, will be back in Chennai very soon.
Recently, he gave a wrap up party to his crew members. Touted to be an action comedy, Kamal Haasan plays a RAW agent Balram Naidu in the film and veteran comedian Brahmanandam will be seen as his assistant, Appa Rao.
Initially, Kamal Haasan, besies playing the lead role, directed a song sequence in Sabaash Naidu, after its director Rajeev Kumar fell ill. Later the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ has taken over as the movie’s director.
In a statement, Kamal said, “My director, Rajeev has taken extremely ill. The unfortunate setback occurred when we were on the fourth day of our recce in Los Angeles.”
“He has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. It is a rare infection prevalent in Europe and North America. This is the reason I am now directing the film… I moved in as a standby director hoping my friend, Rajeev, will recover soon,” he added.
The actor-director further said: “It seems he will, but not in time to finish this film, which is tightly scheduled to end principal shooting by July-end or the first week of August. I am sure when he is up and about, he will have many more films to direct.”
Sabaash Naidu is being shot in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages simultaneously. In Hindi it is titled as Shabhash Kundu while Tamil and Telugu versions have the same title Sabaash Naidu.
