Close to midnight on Wednesday, the intro scene of Superstar Rajinikanth in Kabali was leaked. It was apparently shot during a special show in the US, which was attended by the ‘thalaivar’ himself.
But the movie’s team and Rajini fans are not bothered. Instead, they are thanking the pirates and waiting to watch in on the big screen.
“Watching #Thalaivar entry on phone or computer won’t give you goosebumps. Say thank you to pirates, let’s watch it in theaters from Friday :)” posted the movie’s producer Kalaipuli S Thanu.
“Magizhchi!!superstar send neriya kisses”, wrote Kabali director Pa Ranjith. Soundarya Rajinikanth tweeted: “#StopPiracy ,let’s watch #kabali in theaters from Friday #thalaivarAdhuradi”.
Director Venkat Prabhu, a die hard fan of Rajini, posted: “No matter who releases what! No matter who leaks what! No one can stop the earth shattering mind blowing weekend box office! #kabalida”.
Meanwhile, the Madras High Court on Wednesday issued notice to superstar Rajnikanth on a petition seeking to restrain release of his upcoming film ‘Kabali’ until the actor paid Rs 89 lakh, promised as compensation, to distributor of his previous outing ‘Lingaa’, which was released in 2014.
