Kaali Venkat as Content-Driven Protagonist in ‘Appane Muruga’
‘Appane Muruga’ (Addressing Lord Murugan as a Fatherly Deity) is something common among people when they are distressed in lives. Now a bunch of promising team have titled the film with the same ‘Appane Muruga’.
The film is produced by R. Sathish Thangam, R.G. Sekar and Sasikumar of True Team Entertainment, and is directed by debut filmmaker Guru Ramasamy. He had earlier worked as co-director to Late director Rasu Madhuravan.
Kaali Venkat plays the content-driven protagonist n this film, and the others in the cast includes Saravanan, M.S. Bhaskar, Munishkanth, Madhumitha, Janaki, Super Good Subramani, Mohana Sundaram, Pudhuvai Boopalan of Taanakaaran fame, and many others in the prominent characters. Jaya Prakash, the cinematographer of critically-acclaimed movie ‘Kidaa’ that had won several international awards is cranking camera for this movie.
The story revolves around a man, who has lost his earnings, due to his excess addiction to Online Rummy Game (Gambling), and how he gets out of the troubled waters with his effort and hardwork, thereby redeeming his lost happiness forms the crux of this story.
DIrector Guru Ramasamy says, “Today, we come across many families losing their happiness due to the addiction of Online Rummy game. There are many families, which are ruined due to these gambling games. The peace and harmony among these families are gone as many are succumbed to the web. Appane Muruga is about this theme, which has been narrated with sentiments and humour.”
The film’s shooting commenced in Chennai with a ritual pooja ceremony. The next schedule will be happening in Amba Samudhiram, Pollachi, and Kerala.
