Theatres screening superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala wore a festive look today, as the film released to packed houses and celebrations by fans.
Crackers were burst, milk abhishekams were performed and sweets were distributed by Rajini fans. Police personnel have been deputed for security at theatres, and shows in Chennai started as early as 4 am itself.
With the Supreme Court refusing to grant a stay,
the film was released across the country today amid huge expectations.
Meanwhle, sources said that Tamil Film producers Council President Vishal and actor Prakash Raj held discussions with their Karnataka counterparts to ensure smooth release of the film.
Talking about the Kaala issue in Karnataka, Rajinikanth said: “I didn’t speak anything to hurt the sentiments of Kannada people. Kannada outfits can anytime meet me regarding the Kaala issue. I sincerely hope that Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy provides necessary security to theaters screening Kaala”
In the meantime, the superstar has left for Dehradun for the shoot of his upcoming film with director Karthik Subbaraj.
To be produced by Sun Pictures, Anirudh is composing the music for the film which is being directed by Karthik Subbaraj of Jigarthanda and Iraivi fame.
