Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered for the creation of 969 various posts in ESIC medical college and Government Medical Colleges in Coimbatore and Pudukkottai.
According to an official release, the vacancies to be filled in Coimbatore include professors, associate professors, assistant professors, nurses, paramedical staff and non-medical staff. The government will incur an additional expense of Rs 39.68 crore a year because of the new vacancies, it said.
While 808 posts, including Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, nurses, para-medical employees would be created in ESIC Medical College and Government Medical College in Coimbatore, 161 similar posts would be created in the Government Medical College at Pudukkottai.
In total, Jayalalithaa has ordered to create 969 vacancies in both the institutions, the release said, putting the total annual expense at Rs 48.55 crore.
The release also detailed the initiatives implemented in the health care sector by the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government.
