A latest statement from Apollo Hospitals today said the health condition of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa continues to be very critical.
“The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who suffered a cardiac arrest yesterday evening, continues to be very critical and is on ECMO and other life support systems,” said Apollo Hospitals COO Subbiah Viswanathan.
He added: “The Honourable Chief Minister is being treated and closely monitored by a team of Experts.”
Meanwhile, public transport like buses and train services plied as usual even as educational institutions remained open, police said, adding, no untoward incident has been reported.
Although the AIADMK government has not declared a holiday for educational institutions, some of them remained closed with the respective managements taking a decision in this regard.
Meanwhile, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu was rushing to Chennai from New Delhi to visit her at the hospital. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who air dashed from Mumbai late last night and spent ten minutes at the hospital, and enquired about the health condition of the Chief Minister.
