AIADMK general secretary and chief minister Jayalalithaa has thanked the voters for electing her party candidates in the elections for three assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
In a statement released by the AIADMK, Jayalalithaa said, “The love of the people and the support they have shown to the party in the by-polls has been motivating her.”
Jayalalithaa said the election victory while she was in hospital gave her limitless happiness and enthusiasm. “With this it is proved again that people are on my side,” Jayalalithaa said.
Jayalalithaa extended heartfelt thanks to the voters of Aravakurichi, Thiruparankundram and Thanjavur for endorsing her government’s achievements and welfare schemes with a victory with a large margin of victory. “My excellent work will continue to meet your aspirations,” the chief minister said.
In her first statement since she was hospitalised on September 22, Jayalalithaa had said last week that she was “waiting to hear news of an election victory,” and had encouraging the party to work hard for a win.
She had described her recovery as a “rebirth” and thanked people’s prayers for it. She added that she was “waiting to fully recover and resume work soon.”
