Jana Nayagan’s second single is Anirudh’s tribute to Vijay

The second single from the much-awaited film Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay, titled Oru Pere Varalaaru, was released on Thursday, and the song has already gone viral, with fans sharing their reactions almost immediately.

Composed and sung by Anirudh, the goosebumps-inducing title track highlights the admiration Vijay enjoys from the “Makkal” and sheds light on his larger-than-life persona as a leader of the masses.

The song Oru Pere Varalaaru feels like an ode to Thalapathy Vijay from the makers, particularly lyricist Vivek and music composer Anirudh Ravichandran.

It reflects the many qualities that define a leader, a “Jana Nayagan”, and captures the love, respect and admiration that people hold for Vijay, reinforcing his image as a leader.

There is a dance sequence midway through the song that taps into vintage Vijay.

The actor brings his trademark swagger to the screen with moves choreographed by Sekhar. While the tune carries the gravitas associated with the Leo actor’s image, its flavour is faintly reminiscent of Anirudh’s previous chartbusters. Oru Pere Varalaaru crossed over a million views on YouTube within the first hour of its release.

The first single, Thalapathy Kacheri, set the tone for the film with its high-energy beats and celebratory mood.
