Jana Nayagan records strong advance bookings ahead of release
Advance ticket sales for Jana Nayagan, starring actor-politician Vijay, have opened to a strong response from audiences ahead of the film’s scheduled theatrical release.
The project had originally been planned for a Pongal release but was delayed following issues related to certification. After receiving clearance, the film has now been scheduled for release later this month.
Early booking trends indicate strong audience interest, with industry observers closely watching whether the film can challenge existing Tamil cinema opening-day box office records.
However, it remains to be seen whether Jana Nayagan will break director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Superstar Rajinikanth-led Coolie’s record (Rs 151 crore) to deliver the highest day-one worldwide collection for a Tamil film. This record previously belonged to Vijay’s Leo (Rs 148.5 crore).
Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain, and Nassar, while the soundtrack has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Given Vijay’s planned transition into full-time politics, Jana Nayagan has generated significant attention among fans and the film industry alike.
