Jailer 2 introduces Suraj Venjaramoodu’s mysterious gangster
The world of Jailer 2 has expanded with the introduction of a new character played by Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu.
A short promotional glimpse reveals Suraj as Dileep, a gangster whose intentions appear to be closely tied to an impending confrontation.
The 30-second video shows Dileep alongside his gang as tensions build, with the actor’s voiceover providing an introduction to his character. The makers have kept much of his role and connection to the story under wraps.
The film will bring Suraj Venjaramoodu back to Tamil cinema following his appearance in Dhanush’s Kara. Nelson is returning as writer and director, with Sun Pictures producing the sequel under Kalanithi Maran.
Superstar Rajinikanth will reprise his role as Muthuvel Pandian. Several actors from the first Jailer are also returning, including Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu and Jaffer Saadiq.
The sequel’s additional cast includes Bagavathi Perumal, Tamizh, Jatin Sarna, Meghana Raj Sarja and Bjorn Surrao. Anirudh Ravichander is back as composer, marking his sixth collaboration with Rajinikanth and fifth with Nelson.
The technical team includes cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, editor R Nirmal, art director Drk Kiran and action choreographer Chethan D’Souza.
