Jail movie review

Story:

G V Prakash, Nandhan Ram and Pasanga Pandi are all moved from the slums they are living to a housing board along with their family and many others.

G V Prakash indulges in theft activities, Paandi returns from juvenile jail and Nandhan Ram becomes a drug peddler.

There is always a constant fight between two drug distribution teams. Police always keep an eye on the youngsters in the housing board.

G V Prakash and Nandhan Ram are often taken in to custody. One day Nandhan Ram is killed in front of G V Prakash and Pandi. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:
Director Vasantha Balan is someone who has always tried to bring out the story of the oppressed and downtrodden. He has tried the same in Jail and also succeeded in it.

G V Prakash as the rough and tough youth from the housing board is aptly cast in the role. He naturally delivers the body language and dialogue delivery of the locality.

His efforts to portray such a role should be appreciated. Abarnathi as G V Prakash’s love interest has done her part well. Nandhan Kumar who is making his debut in the movie has delivered a seasoned acting.

Pandi gets to play an emotional role and shines in it making the audience empathise with the character.

Rest of the cast including Raadika Sarathkumar, Ravi Mariya have all done well. G V Prakash as usual shines in the BGM department as well.

Rating: 3.7/5
