Actor Jai was in trouble again. He was stopped near Nungambakkam on Tuesday night by the traffic police, for using a modified silencer in his car.
The cops then asked him to record a video message requesting the public not to use such silencers. He was slapped with a fine of Rs 1,100 for the offence.
In the video, Jai says, “If you have a silencer that creates a loud noise, the police will first catch and later seize your vehicle also. Such loud noises create problems for hospital, birds and also has other issues.”
But the actor has clarified on his social networking page that an awareness video done by him has been misinterpreted.
Jai rammed his car into a divider in Adyar in September last year when driving drunk. He was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 185 (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs) of the Motor Vehicles Act and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), leading to a six-month suspension of his license.
In 2014 too, the actor was reportedly involved in a similar incident near Kasi theatre in Chennai.
Jai had donned easy-going protagonist roles in hit movies such as Chennai-28 franchise, Subramaniapuram and Engayum Epothum.
