Jai Bhim row: Support pours in for Suriya
Suriya’s Jai Bhim courted another controversy recently. On 15 November, Vanniyar Sangam sent a legal notice to Suriya, Jyotika, director TJ Gnanavel and Amazon Prime Video for tarnishing the reputation of the Vanniyar community.
Following this, Suriya’s fans took to Twitter to express solidarity with the team of Jai Bhim. They started trending #WeStandWithSuriya on Twitter.
Suriya’s Jai Bhim released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2. The film, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is about the custodial torture inflicted on the members of the Irular community.
Initially, Hindi-speaking people had a problem with a scene where Prakash Raj can be seen slapping a man for speaking in Hindi.
