It’s official: Tamizh Padam 2 to release July 12

Putting an end to the wait of fans, makers of Tamizh Padam 2 have announced that the film would hit the screens this week itself, that is on July 12.

‘Tamizh Padam 2’ created a huge buzz on the internet and the trailer and teaser became a huge hit on the social media.

Recently, the teaser of Tamizh Padam 2, sequel to the memorable parody film that came out in 2010 directed by CS Amudhan, was released amid huge expectations.

Going by the video, Tamizh Padam 2.0 takes several jibes at Tamil cinema and politicians throughout the teaser.

The teaser begins with Shiva taking a dig at Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. Tamizh Padam 2.0 also makes a spoof out of blockbuster films like Mersal, Mankatha and Vikram Vedha to name a few.

The conspicuous absence of the Singam franchise makes one hope it has a special place in the main film, or perhaps the trailer.

The filmmakers have also made the best use of all that has been happening in the state these past years.

Directed by CS Amudhan, Tamizh Padam 2 is a sequel to the hit film Tamizh Padam (2010), which takes down the common elements and story arcs associated with popular Tamil cinema.

Also starring Iswarya Menon, Disha Pandey, Satish and Manobala, the film will be released in August 2018.
