It’s official: Rajini’s 2.0 to release on November

After months of speculation about when superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0
directed by Shankar will hit the screens, a release date has finally
been set.

Shankar tweeted: ““At last the VFX companies promised the final
delivery date. The movie will release on Nov 29th 2018.”

Producers Lyca Productions tweeted: “With Great Pride and Immense
Excitement announcing the release date of our #MagnumOpus #2Point0 –
🔥 November 29Th, 2018. Gear up to view the Ultimate Clash 🔥
#GoodOrEvil #WhoDecides @shankarshanmugh @rajinikanth @akshaykumar
@arrahman @iamAmyJackson #2Point0FromNov29.”

Interestingly, the announcement was made on Tuesday night, hours ahead
of Rajini’s return to Chennai from West Bengal, where he was shooting
for his upcoming film directed by Karthik Subbaraj. He was accorded a
warm welcome at the airport.

The film, which was initially scheduled to release during Deepavali in
2017, had seen a delay of almost a year, owing to the work involved in
special effects.

The movie 2.0 has been written and directed by S Shankar and is
supposed to be the first Indian film to have been shot in 3D format
directly. The movie is also reported to be the most expensive Indian
film to have been made till date.
