IT raids at multiple locations belonging to G Square Group
The Income Tax Department is conducting searches at multiple locations in Tamil Nadu. The searches are being conducted at properties of the real estate company G Square.
The G Square company had in the past been marred in political controversy, with the Opposition BJP accusing the top leaders of ruling DMK of helping the real estate company to grow exponentially in the state.
The searches are underway at the head office in Chennai, Coimbatore and several other places across Tamil Nadu. Besides G-Square offices, DMK legislator MK Mohan’s residence was searched by the IT sleuths days after the BJP’s ‘DMK files’ exposé.
G Square Realtors Private Limited was established on October 12, 2012 and it is now a top-tier real estate company with headquarters in Chennai and operations across South India.
