Thousands Gather at ISKCON Chennai ECR to Pull Lord Jagannath’s Chariot
44th Rath Yatra festival, presented by ISKCON Chennai ECR Temple, took place on Sunday, July 7th at 2:30 pm. The ornately decorated Rath, embarked on its journey from Pallavakam ECR (near Reliance Superstore), making its way through Neelankarai, Vettuvankeni, and Injambakkam before reaching its final destination at Akkarai ISKCON Temple ECR.
The festival, a celebration of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Subhadra, drew crowds of devotees and onlookers who lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the magnificent procession. The atmosphere was filled with joy, devotion, and the sound of Sankirtana as the Rath made its way through the bustling road.
“We had the incredible joy of celebrating the Ratha Yatra, where we pulled the grand chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Subhadra through the streets. This isn’t just a festival; it’s a heartfelt journey with the Lord, symbolising His visit to all His devotees. Pulling the chariots feels like pulling the Lord closer to our hearts, strengthening our bond with Him. The unity, love, and devotion we share during this festival remind us of the deep, timeless connection we have with the Divine” – said a representative of ISKCON Chennai ECR Temple
