With the Chief Minister candidate of AIADMK all set to be announced on 7 October, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam also the coordinator of the party today said that he will take a decision which will benefit the party.
“All decisions that I have taken so far is based on the welfare of Tamilnadu people and AIADMK. I will continue to do so. Whatever has happened happened for good, What is happening is also for good and what will happen is also for good,” he tweeted.
The tweet has raised speculations about the decision that Panneerselvam has taken. Ever since the executive meeting of thr AIADMK got over on 28 September, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Panneerselvam have been meeting their supporters spearately.
Even yesterday Ministers Rajenthra Bhalaji and Sengottaiyan had met Palaniswami. It is said that the announcement about the Chief Minister candidate was discussed during the meeting.
On September 28, after heated exchanges in the executive committee meeting, party’s deputy coordinator KP Munusamy announced that both Panneerselvam and Palaniswam would make the announcement regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate of the party on October 7.
However, Panneerselvam came up with a message with just one more day in between for the announcement has caused further confusion among the AIADMK cadre as to what he actually indicates – whether he is intending to take a different decision in the coming days or he has arrived at a consensus formula for the CM candidate.
Quoting Lord Krishna’s versus in Bhagwad Gita, he said “whatever happened has happened well. Whatever is happening it is happening well. Whatever will happen will also happen well”, he said, in a virtual climbdown from his hardened stance that he was running for the post of CM in the elections.
Political analysts see Panneerselvam’s message as a positive development and that it has put at rest to speculations on the future course of action to be taken by him.
