Trisha to play mom

Is Amala Paul’s loss Trisha’s gain?

Though it was earlier said that Amala Paul was a part of Mani Ratnam’s upcoming magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan and was expected to play a pivotal role in the film, it is now said she has walked out of the project.

According to reports, the film’s shooting was delayed which was why Amala Paul had to walk out. However, a few other reports stated that Amala Paul has not walked out of the movie over date-related issue as believed by some, rather Mani Ratnam decided to replace her as he started feeling that her latest appearance do not suit the role that she was offered earlier.

It looks like Mani Ratnam had conveyed the message to her sometime ago and has already found a replacement in Trisha Krishnan. Mani Ratnam is in Thailand to hunt good locations to shoot the film. Stunt choreographer Sham Kaushal revealed the news on Twitter and posted, “Location recce in Thailand. Rab Rakha..”

The shoot of Ponniyin Selvan will begin next month in Thailand. To be produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the film also boasts an ensemble of actors including Vikram, Karthi, ‘Jayam’ Ravi, Aishwarya Rai, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Mohan Babu, and Ashwin.

Most of the actors have already started prepping for the project. For instance, actor Parthiban is growing his beard while Vikram is growing his hair for this project. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has already confirmed that she is part of the project, is likely to be seen playing dual roles in the highly anticipated project,

While the much-anticipated period drama has been constantly creating headlines for its unconventional story plot, fans have appreciated the movie for its unique star cast too.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a part of several Tamil films throughout her career. The actor was seen in many blockbusters such as Enthiran, Kandukondain Kandukondain and Iruvar. Reportedly, Aishwarya will be seen next in Jasmine: The Story of a Leased Womb.
