Shooting of director Shankar’s Indian 2 starring Kamal Hassan came to an abrupt end due to a mishap in which three crew members lost their lives.
The latest buzz is that the makers are planning to resume shooting from next year. It is said that Kamal Hassan wants to complete the project as early as possible so that he can start focussing of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Going by sources it is said that the shooting will commence from January last week or February first week. The movie directed by Shankar is sequel to the 1996 hit flick Indian. The movie is bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
There were reports recently that Shankar had written to the production house of Indian 2 asking them to spell out their production plan for the project.
According to reports, while Shankar and his team were ready to shoot, the production house wanted to bring down the cost to make up for their losses amidst the lockdown.
Shankar felt it would be difficult as he had already brought down the cost from Rs 400 crore to Rs 220 crore. That is the reason why the production house is reportedly playing the waiting game.
