Indian 2 shoot halted

Shoot of Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 directed by Shankar kick-started in January this year and the team took a break after a short schedule.

At a time when the team was expected to start shooting soon, the latest buzz is that the shooting will be resumed only in May after the Lok Sabha elections, which is set to happen on April 18 in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, Kamal has asked the film’s director Shankar to resume the shoot in May post the Lok Sabha elections as the actor will be busy campaigning for his own party Makkal Needhi Maiam.

Sources say that Shankar will kickstart the third schedule of the film only in the month of May. Produced by Lyca, Indian 2 has Kajal Aggarwal, Delhi Ganesh, and Nedumudi Venu in pivotal characters.

Meanwhile, Shankar, who recently kickstarted shooting for Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan, is likely to make a sequel to Boys next year.

If sources are to be believed, Jason Sanjay, son of Vijay, will make his acting debut by playing the lead role in the movie.

“Vijay’s son and Vikram’s son Dhruva Vikram will play the protagonists in Boys 2. An official announcement is expected soon,” sources added.

Recently, the lead for Boys 2 was given by music composer Thaman who played the lead role in Boys. He posted a picture with actor Siddharth, the movie’s protagonist, with the caption “#boys2!!”.

Siddharth too shared the picture and wrote, “Hahahahahaha! KoLuthi vidu! Good boys will be good boys.”

Boys is a 2003 Indian coming-of-age musical film directed by Shankar. It starred Siddarth, Genelia, Bharath, Nakul, Manikandan and Sai Srinivas Thaman in the lead roles. The score and soundtrack are composed by A R Rahman.
