Maestro Ilayaraja has sought to play down the latest controversy surrounding him– that he was insulted by a security officer at the Bengaluru airport on last Sunday, when he was about to catch a flight to Chennai after offering prayers at a temple in Karnataka.
Ilayaraja said that the incident was no big deal, and that he was only asked to open the prasad packet and show, which he did.
He further asked why Indians bother themselves with such issues, and said that he has come past far more offensive instances in his life.
Appealing his fans and well-wishers to calm down, the legendary composer said, “I have had faced many more worst insults in life. This is nothing when compared to them. I don’t know why people in these parts get irked so easily.”
Ilayaraja gets humble, says he was not humiliated at Bengaluru airport
