Doctor Samuel George Kalai Arasar is playing the protagonist’s role – a determined police officer entrusted with unraveling the truth behind a puzzling mystery. The character serves as the driving force of a story that explores justice, hidden realities, and the pursuit of truth against all odds.
The film is written and directed by Gautham Krishna, who recently earned appreciation for directing actress Dhansika’s action thriller ‘Yogida’. With Kala Vettai, he ventures into yet another distinctive thriller, crafting a screenplay rooted in real incidents and layered with suspense, mystery, and unexpected revelations that promise to keep audiences engaged until the very end.
New Zealand-based actress Naika Shanu plays the female lead, while the supporting cast features veteran actors Ilavarasu, Singampuli, and Jawa Sundareson alongside several talented newcomers.
To preserve the authenticity of the events portrayed in the film, the team undertook extensive research before filming across locations including Kanyakumari District, Pazhani, and Tiruchendur, ensuring that the narrative remains grounded in realism while retaining its cinematic appeal.
The film brings together an accomplished technical team with Philip R. Sundar, cinematographer of Draupathi 2, handling the visuals. Music is composed by Javed Riaz, best known for his work in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut film Maanagaram. R.K. Vinodh Kanna serves as the editor, while R. Manohar heads the art direction. Renowned stunt choreographer Super Subbarayan has designed the action sequences. Th. Nirmal Kannan is the Production Controller, and Johnson is handling the film’s publicity.
