Hé Govind, a special music concert by AIM for Seva (27 July 2024, Chennai)
AIM for Seva presents the Chennai edition of Hé Govind: An Ode to Krishna, a concert by reputed artistes Jayateerth Mevundi, Pravin Godkhindi and a team of talented musicians. This is a fundraiser concert, scheduled on July 27, 2024 (Saturday) at 6:30 p.m. at The Music Academy, Chennai.
The proceeds from the concert will go towards the running of Swami Dayananda Krupa Home, a
residential facility catering to adult men with developmental delays.
AIM FOR SEVA
Founded by Pujyasri Swami Dayananda Saraswati in 2000, the All India Movement for Seva (AIM for Seva) is a registered pan-Indian public charitable trust which aims to transform our society through a network of seva.
AIM for Seva instituted its flagship project, Chatralayams (Free Student Hostels) in 2001, with the aim of enabling children from impoverished rural and tribal areas to have the same opportunities as children of means.
Over the past two decades, AIM for Seva has positively touched the lives of over 20 million people across India, continuing its mission to reach and support even more individuals in need.
THE CONCERT
Hé Govind is a concert designed as a celebration of Sri Krishna, with a selection of bhajans and abhangs, which are all in praise of the divine presence of the beloved Lord. The music is a blend of classical and semi classical styles. The songs are chosen from among the compositions of popular saints and seers of India, including those by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

THE CAUSE: SWAMI DAYANANDA KRUPA HOME
The Chennai edition of ‘Hé Govind’ is being held in support of Swami Dayananda Krupa Home, a residential facility that provides long-term support for adult men with developmental delays and disabilities.
The seed of a thought for such a facility arose in Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s mind when he observed some of his followers and students, who were parents to children with developmental delays. From individualised daily routines to specialist medical intervention to maintaining constant supervision, the parents and caregivers felt helpless. In particular, the parents would often share their worries about who would care for their children after their own lifetimes.
A solution that addressed this question, by providing a place that differently-abled people could consider their own, took the form of Swami Dayananda Krupa Home. Today, the facility is a 10-acre lush green campus with thoughtfully planned facilities and empathetic care provided for adult men (18 to 65 years of age), with wide-ranging developmental delays and disabilities.
